Still waiting
For the heavens to open and gives us the much needed rain, though it has rained alas just enough to keep the grass growning. Not as busy on the rivers last week, still the sea trout are starting in numbers now. So now might be the time to starting fishing for sea trout at night, I feel that not many people fish for them at night any more which is a shame.
Neil’s Week Ahead.
A few fish are creeping through just now probably running at night in this low water. Sea trout are in all the pools now and will respond to small black flies. As ever you can’t go wrong with Stoats Tails, especially the silver bodied version with JC cheeks! Also try Pearly Dabbler, Dark Mackerel and Teal Blue and Silver. A hitched sunray should also work now. Hopefully this rain today and Tuesday will liven things up a bit!

Look up towards the Loups on the North Esk. One forgets how narrow parts of the North Esk are.
